Dadddddd!

This was a stellar weekend at the Ribclan household. We celebrated our great dad, ribB, as much as possible throughout our nice weekend at home. Friday night we enjoyed pizza and video games at a local pizzaria, which was a hoot. I had forgotten how fun video games are (arcade style, none of this thumb control business of today's home gaming systems...give me a joy stick!). Next to the pizzaria is ribB's fave archery store, so he got a few moments to check out what was in stock, etc. Beyond that were simple tasks like grocery store shopping and getting the kids to bed. We did have a bit of a scramble that night as our scheduled babysitter for Saturay bailed on us at 8:30pm. Not cool. Fortunately for us, we gave Ann a call and she was on board. We are very blessed to have her in our lives!

Saturday involved lots of home projects, ribB getting out for a couple of hours for shooting practice (bow) and cleaning the house (remember, it's a PIT!) for Ann's arrival. Then, the fun really kicked into gear. ribB and I went golfing with my co-worker/friend, Heather and her husband. They are a lot of fun to hang out with and We all endured our first golf outing for 2007 together and overall, it wasn't too bad. We weren't going to win any PGA tournaments, but we did have some nice drives and puts throughout the evening. After golf, we had time for dinner and then we headed back to our place to hang out some more. Somehow, Ms. Louise (our loud cat) became quite the center of attention with her reaction to catnip. Toonces anyone?

On Father's Day, we enjoyed a long day out on the river, perfect for our dad extraordinaire! We cruised the waves (man, it's amazing how the wind can stir up the St. Croix), ate lunch and did some swimming at a sandbar. By the end of the day, we were all wiped out from the intense sun (97ยบ!!) and fresh air. We topped it off with some great brownies at home...yum! He also enjoyed opening gifts, especially the homemade one from Kdee.

Overall, ribB had a great Father's Day & weekend, which is only right. He's such a kind, fun and loving dad --it's nice to celebrate him to the fullest!

PS--whenever ribB does something silly, the kids yell "Dadddd!". It's cute, but I'm guessing you'd need to be there to fully appreciate it!
