What is a skirt to you?

So, here's a cute story from this morning...
The beauty of having a 6yr old is that they're fairly capable at getting ready in the morning. Now, there is a certain amount of "letting go" you have to accept. There are lots of mornings where you have to grin and bear it. More than once I've said, "Are you happy with that choice? I'm not so sure I'd wear that, but if you really like it, that's fine." I figure if it's not too crazy (like a wild combination of patterns and colors), than it's not hurting anything to let her have ownership on her clothing choices. Besides, how can I resist her proud smile and the entertainment of seeing what she actually picks out?
With that said, this morning was a different story. As I helped little B with a book, Kdee walked in to get my approval...um, she was wearing a shirt for a skirt. Hey, it was pretty amazing that it even looked like a skirt and she did a decent job of wrapping it around herself (legs through the neck hole, arms wrapped and tied her waist). What was more funny about all of this was the sincere disappointment she showed when I told her that she couldn't wear it. I actually felt a bit sorry for her--it was a creative idea--but I wasn't about to let my daughter wear a shirt skirt to school. I'm not that mom! Ha!
The Oscars are even closer...I'm so excited, it's getting hard to fall asleep at night! Yippee! So, for a little "end of the week" fun, here is the link to a great game on Oscar.com--"your perfect Oscar date"...who's your date? I'd love to hear!
